Night Owls

You and me, we've been night owls. You sleep a lot, but you wake up every 2-3 hours at night for a feeding, which is to be expected, but mommy never knew how much lack of sleep can hinder you. You are 2 weeks old now and your Nonny and Grandpa Dunaway just left. Nonny was here for your birth and then Grandpa came up a few days later. They helped us out with this new transistion in our lives. Helped mommy and daddy when we needed our sleep to keep us sane and of course because they loved you and wanted to be close to you. Who wouldn't? We love how alert you are and that you gaze at us trying to figure out what exactly we are all about. When you are awake you are always looking at something, always curious, always learning. You can lift your head up a little. One of my favorite pictures of you is when daddy is holding you in your brown and white sleeper and you are lifting your head off his chest.  You are so dear to us and we love you so very much.

Then there was YOU.

This blog is dedicated to you James Reid Dunaway. Today is your birthday, today God brought you into this world, into our family, and into our hearts. You are 7 lbs 9oz , 21 inches of pure perfection. Dark brown hair, dazzling blue eyes, and barely there eyebrows. I love watching you gaze into my eyes and I love getting to rock you, give you kisses, and hold you close. I can see that you trust me and love me already and it is one of the greatest feelings I have ever experienced. You are already loved by so many people and you've only just begun your life in this world. Just know that mommy and daddy love you very much and that this blog is here for you to look back on when you're old enough to understand and get something from it.
